How Thriving Works

Welcome to The Thrive Clinic,
Your Family Practice Specializing in Functional Medicine

“The whole point is lots of engagement, monitoring and care. Getting to the level of thriving and not merely surviving is a process, a very invested one.”

I would like to provide the solutions to my patients that I personally have used to reverse my own chronic disease challenge, after failing to find the answer in the conventional medical approach.

I have been using these strategies to help my patients since 2013 and I have since completed the full training program in Functional Medicine with the Institute of Functional Medicine.

It has proven impossible to continue providing this level of care within the insurance-based system, as they don’t cover lifestyle and dietary interventions. We, therefore, have memberships available with different tiers, depending on individual needs, to help those who place a premium on their health and don’t want to accept the limits of traditional healthcare and insurance.

My goal is to treat the individual, not the disease. Serious or acute conditions are addressed first. Appropriate testing, referral, and prescription medication are used as indicated but, in many cases, the need for these can be eliminated and all cases it can be reduced, depending on motivation.

I look forward to starting your journey towards thriving with you. See below for an overview of how the process at The Thrive Clinic looks.

Visit 1: Comprehensive Functional Wellness Consultation & Evaluation

This is where it starts off. A full hour session to understand the entire context of you, with Dr. Sievert.

We take the time to learn what your history is, your present condition and where you want to be in the near and long term future.

Based on this visit’s discussion, Dr. Sievert will recommend an extensive lab panel to begin your functional medicine analysis. The analysis of these labs will allow to Dr. Sievert to begin identifying disease triggers and your core imbalances.

Visit 2: Follow Up Strategy Session

This is Dr. Sievert’s paramount session.

He has the context of you and now also has hard data from lab tests and advanced diagnostics.

This is where the strategy is set for walking out your path to recovery/wellness based on your goals.

* This appointment is typically 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment.

Additional Follow Up Visits

Follow-up appointments with Dr. Sievert will be used to monitor your progress towards your goals and to adjust your trajectory if necessary, typically in 2-3 month intervals. Additional labs may be recommended as you continue down your path towards thriving.

Health Coach Consultations

With the context, diagnosis and prescribed strategy from Dr. Sievert, our health coach can help you plan out your day-to-day course in regards to daily diet, nutrition, exercise and stress management. We recommend consulting with the health coach every 1-2 months during a membership year.

Multiple Touch Points

With as often as daily contact if desired.

When you have a question, concern or idea, contacting your team of providers at The Thrive Clinic is as easy as a quick message from your smart-phone or computer, right when you think of it using our Patient Portal.

While this is not a “Doctor on call”, your team will respond during normal business hours.

Here is some additional information to help you understand what being a patient of The Thrive Clinic looks like:

  • Enrolling as a Patient: This can be done over the phone or in our office with our medical receptionist in a matter of just minutes.
  • Payment: For members: At the time of enrollment we will collect your payment information and your decision of which membership package and payment plan you chose. For non-members: Payment for fee-for-service appointments are due at the time of service.
  • Laboratory Testing: A very extensive lab panel is paramount to your care.  The panel will include functional testing to evaluate your health at a cellular level. This testing is different from traditional testing as it helps to investigate the root cause(s) of your health challenges instead of just diagnosing you. It is done using blood, urine, stool, and/or saliva. These labs are not performed by The Thrive Clinic and are not included in your fees to The Thrive Clinic.
  • Customized Supplement Program: After reviewing your lab results and evaluating your mineral and nutrient demands, Dr. Sievert will recommend a personalized regimen of only the highest quality products to correct any deficits and help your body thrive. Dr. Sievert is very sensitive to supplements being taken unnecessarily and will try to minimize intake as much as possible without compromising the outcome. This is why your personal regimen will be reviewed and modified at every appointment with him.
